It all began in 1928 in Zaragoza, Spain...
It was the adventure of two friends, Álvaro Artiach and Narciso Hidalgo. Two nature lovers – one a hunter, the other a canoeist and mountaineer. In 1928 they pooled their savings and founded Radio Sport. With an entrepreneurial spirit and in a Spain with scant resources, they imported hickory wood from Norway, marine panels from Guinea, gunpowder from Italy and Japan, and they designed and manufactured skis, canoes and shotgun shells.
In 1930, with a canoe prototype and a tent that today would seem rudimentary to us, Hidalgo established the first canoeing record, going 400 Km down the Ebro River from Zaragoza to the Mediterranean in seven days.
The 1940s saw this entrepreneurial spirit lead them to manufacture backpacks, ski trousers, anoraks, tents and boxing gloves. A new business was founded: Casa Artiach (Hidalgo and Artiach) S.C.
By the end of the 1960s, driven by the new passion for camping, the company had grown to over 140 employees in a new 3,500 m2 plant specializing in the manufacture of camping, mountaineering and nautical equipment.
The Trangoworld Project began in the 1990s with the development of new product ranges to meet the demands of the rising popularity of outdoor sports. Today, Trangoworld manufacture a full range of clothing and accessories for mountaineering, hillwalking, camping, climbing, bouldering and adventure racing.
