The world leading manufacturer of snowshoes from Thônet, France.
TSL was founded in 1981 in the heart of the Alps, and with its inception came a major revolution of the snowshoe. TSL took inspiration from the old wood and leather snowshoes of the past and manufactured a set in plastic. They called this first model the JCB.
In the 1990s, TSL developed an articulated binding that combined comfort, technical design and support, and launched the RANDO. The shape remains familiar for the base of all composite snowshoes today and the RANDO is still the world’s best-selling snowshoe.
In the 2000s, TSL’s innovation was noticed further afield and they started to export to Japan, and soon after to the rest of Europe. A new European snowshoe racing cup competition was set up with TSL’s support and marked trails for snowshoeing were developed, establishing snowshoeing as a new sport. At the same time, TSL broke into the American market with a complete range of Aluminium snowshoes manufactured in Vermont. Always full of ideas for helping people to have fun in the outdoors, TSL created other markets in Nordic Walking and in 2011, the YOONER.
In 2013 TSL made probably its greatest breakthrough with the SYMBIOZ. Since the snowshoe was first created, the user has had to adapt their stride to accommodate the snowshoe and to adapt to the terrain. The SYMBIOZ turns this on its head with a revolutionary snowshoe that adapts to the user’s stride and to the terrain, allowing a full symbiosis with nature. This inspired the name SYMBIOZ.
